Shopify’s built-in packing slip template
In Shopify admin, the packing slip template lives under Settings → Shipping and delivery, in the Documents section, as Packing slip template. Shopify’s help describes editing it by changing the store address, logo and other elements in the template’s HTML and Liquid code, and you can revert to the default at any time.
Shopify’s customising guide covers logos, addresses, product images and styling — it doesn’t list a paper-size setting. Merchants who print on 4×6 label printers have asked in the Shopify community how to reformat the template for 4×6, which typically means hand-editing the code and CSS. That works if you’re comfortable with Liquid; if you’re not, a separate 4×6 slip is faster.
Using a 4×6 packing slip with a Shopify store, no code needed
- Open the order in your Shopify admin and note the order name (like #1001), customer name and each line item.
- Enter the SKU and variant (size, colour) for each line — these print under the product title so pickers can match the slip to the shelf.
- Choose Minimal if you want a cleaner look with fewer rules, or Classic for a ruled table.
- Add your store name and a footer with your support email or returns policy link. Tick Remember to reuse them.
- Print the PDF at Actual Size on 4×6 paper or labels.
Big carts on a small slip
Stores with bundles, wholesale orders or multi-variant products regularly see orders with a dozen or more lines. On a 4×6 slip that’s a real layout problem, so Auto Fit works through progressively tighter layouts — two columns, and type never below 7 pt — before it adds a second page.
