What size is a packing slip?
A standard packing slip is a full page — 8.5 × 11 in (US Letter) or A4 — and that’s what most marketplaces and shipping tools generate. If you ship with a thermal label printer, a 4 × 6 in (100 × 150 mm) slip is the practical choice: it uses the same paper as your shipping label, prints in seconds and fits small mailers.

Layout tips for a 4×6 slip
- Keep item text at 7 pt or larger. Anything smaller is hard to read on a thermal print, especially on faint stock.
- Put SKU and variant on a second, lighter line under the product name so titles stay scannable.
- Use two columns only for long orders, and expect prices to move onto the second line under each item in that mode so the item text has room.
- Move overflow to a second page rather than shrinking type. Put the order number and “Page 2 of 2” on every page.
- Leave a 0.2 in safe margin. Thermal printers have unprintable edges; the maker keeps content inside them.
