Why Labels Come Combined on One Sheet
Shipping apps and marketplaces like ShipStation, Pirate Ship, Shopify and Etsy often batch-export several orders' labels onto shared Letter or A4 pages — efficient for a laser printer, but not for a thermal label printer that expects one label per physical page. Printed as-is, a combined sheet either shrinks every label to fit the roll or gets sliced apart.
2-up combined exports
A common export style stacks two labels, one above the other, on a single Letter or A4 page. The 2-per-page preset splits that stack into two correctly sized output pages.
4-up combined exports
Some batch exports place four labels in a 2×2 grid per sheet. The 4-per-page preset splits each quadrant into its own page, in reading order.
Sheets with a receipt or packing slip
If a sheet mixes labels with a receipt, packing list or instructions, only the regions you select and include are exported — everything else is left out of the output file entirely.
Multi-page batches
Define a layout once, then apply it to every other page with the same size and orientation. Pages that don't match are flagged so you can set them up individually.
Output Sizing, Without Stretching
The default "Original size" mode copies each selected region at its own exact dimensions — a straight crop, no scaling at all. Choosing a thermal preset like 4×6 instead locks each region's shape to that preset's aspect ratio before export, so resizing it is always a uniform scale, never a stretch, a clip, or a loss of content.
Print at Actual Size / 100%. Avoid "Fit to Page" or "Shrink oversized pages" in your print dialog — those settings rescale a page the Splitter already sized exactly, undoing the fix.

How do I split a PDF with multiple shipping labels into separate pages?

Does splitting labels change their size or stretch them?
No. By default each output page is exactly the size of the region you selected, with no scaling at all. If you choose a thermal preset like 4×6 instead, the Splitter locks the region's shape to that preset's aspect ratio before export, so it is scaled uniformly — never stretched, clipped, or distorted.
Can I exclude a receipt or packing slip that's on the same sheet as my labels?
Yes. Only the regions you select and include are exported. Anything outside a selected region, or a region you've unchecked in the list, never appears in the output file.
Will this work on a multi-page PDF with different label layouts on each page?
Yes. You can navigate page by page and define regions individually, or define a layout once and apply it to every other page that matches its size and orientation — pages that don't match are flagged so you can handle them separately instead of getting a silently wrong result.
Does this preserve the barcode on each label?
The Splitter copies each label's original PDF content directly rather than flattening it into a new image, and warns you if a selected region is cut too close to a detected barcode. After export it also runs a practical decode check comparing each selected label's barcode before and after processing. This is not a carrier certification or a guarantee that every scanner will read the printed label — use the Barcode Scan Test on a printed label if you want to check further.
What's the difference between the Splitter and the Shipping Label Resizer?
The Splitter turns one source page with several labels into several output pages (a 1-to-many split). The Shipping Label Resizer crops and resizes a single label per page to an exact size (a 1-to-1 resize). If your PDF already has one label per page, use the Resizer directly.
Is there a limit on file size or number of pages?
Yes: PDFs up to 25MB and 60 pages, with up to 300 selected labels in one export. These limits keep the browser responsive since everything runs on your device; for larger batches, split the source file first.
