How to Scan a Shipping Label Barcode

What the Decoded Value Means
It is the data in the bars — not a package lookup.
The decoded value is the data stored in the barcode. On a carrier label it is usually a tracking or routing string; on a marketplace label it may be an order or item code.
The value can include extra characters compared with the tracking number printed in words — for example routing or service data on some labels — so do not assume they match character for character. FitMyPage reads the barcode only; it does not look up packages or tracking status.
Which Barcodes on a Label Can Be Scanned
Start with the long linear barcode.
Most shipping labels carry a linear barcode (often Code 128) and sometimes a 2D code such as Data Matrix, PDF417 or MaxiCode. The test reads common linear barcodes and most 2D types. Some symbols, including UPS MaxiCode, may not decode reliably in a browser — scan the linear barcode instead.
If It Will Not Scan
Usually a focus, light or print problem.
